Radio FCA has audio of our supporters speaking at the April 24 City Council meeting.

http://www.fernwoodvic.ca/radiofca.htm

Mayor and Council agreed to the FCA proposal of a "Standstill Agreement", whereby legal action on both sides is stopped to allow up until MY 31 for a formal mediation process to try and resolve the dispute.

Dave Kesson was on the list to speak FOR the eviction to proceed immediately, according to the agenda, but either looked around the room at the 100 supporters of the FCA and felt it inappropriate or changed his mind when he heard Mayor Lowe announce the mediation agreement.

Regardless, we are very heartened by this new window of opportunity to negotiate. The details are on the FCA website: http://www.fernwoodvic.ca

This is to inform you that Victoria's City Council voted in a closed meeting April 3rd 2008 to evict the Fernwood Community Association from our building at 1923 Fernwood Road. We have 60 days, from April 7th, to leave the premises. You can view this eviction document and other news and documents on our website (address at the bottom).

Fernwood needs your immediate help to reverse that decision by:

(1) calling or writing the Mayor and Council as soon as possible and tell them you would like the City to retract the notice of eviction;

(2) attending the next City Council meeting on Thursday, April 24 at 7:30 at City Hall to support the FCA's presentation to Council;

(3) attending the General Meeting of the membership on April 28 at 7:00 pm at 1923 Fernwood Road -- possibly our last meeting at this location.

On our website is the FCA fact sheet in regards to it's on going struggle to find resolution with City Hall. You will also find contact information for Mayor and City Council, along with the 10-page Petition to the Court we filed regarding the City's withdrawing our ability to sublet our upstairs units, the crux of this dispute. Our website will be kept current as this situation evolves.

We have requested City staff and Councillors to sit down with us in good faith and work out a reasonable solution. Council declined our request.

Public support is essential.

Thank you in advance for your support for keeping this valuable community resource.

Conscious Value Systems

video.google.ca/videoplay Hello everyone, This video is going out to those who I think may have some interest in the way I have been looking at conscious value systems. It is not “Cpt Sweep”....rather a more serious attempt to explain and show the idea of matching values with specific concepts to make a specifically formulated value system, either for yourself, your organization or your community. I filmed this 2 days… Continue
